What does "age cut-off month" mean?

The age cut-off month determines how a player's age is calculated during registration. When the player's birth date is entered during registration, their playing age will be calculated by subtracting the player's year of birth from the season year. In addition, the player's birth month will also be taken into account. If the player's birth month is the same as or later in the year than the age cut-off month, the player's age will be calculated as the difference between the season year and the player's birth year minus one year.

Age cut-off month can vary across leagues. It can be edited on the admin site by navigating to Setup->Registration->Registration Setup. Under the "General" tab, the fields are labeled "Cutoff Month (Boys) if applicable" and "Cutoff Month (Girls) if applicable".
