The Cutoff Year field lets pick whether you want the current year, previous years, or future years as the year for your cutoff date. The filter allows you to pick month and day first and then, you may pick your option for year. This means the site will always determine the year for your cutoff date based on the year for your season, which will update the cutoffs even when you change years.

(ex. 1 You pick the cutoff date for baseball to be May 5, then pick current year for the cutoff year. If this season is the 2017 season, then the cutoff date will be May 5, 2017. Next year, it will be May 5, 2018 without having to change the filter.)
