About Peake Sports
A Game for Everyone
Ball hockey is a sport anyone can enjoy. Whether you’re a high-level ice hockey player or someone who’s never worn skates, this game is for you. Played entirely on foot, ball hockey removes the skating barrier and requires minimal equipment, making it accessible and affordable — truly “A Game for Everyone!”
In Detroit, thousands of players of all ages take part in organized leagues every year, with dozens of teams competing across the city.
Ice Hockey and Ball Hockey
Ball hockey is a great entry point for parents who want to see if their kids enjoy hockey. By starting with a lower-cost version of the game, families can find out if there’s a real passion for the sport before transitioning into ice hockey. The move to ice hockey then becomes much easier and more natural.
Benefits to Ice Hockey Players
For ice hockey players, ball hockey is an excellent off-season training tool. It develops:
- Stickhandling
- Vision on the floor
- Hand-eye coordination
These skills transfer directly back to the ice.
Local Play
During league play and playoffs, all games are held locally in Detroit. For higher-level players and teams, there are opportunities to compete at regional, national, and even international tournaments.
