Age Groups: Youth players ages 6–17 (see age categories below).

All Skill Levels Welcome: From beginners to advanced players, everyone is encouraged to join. Teams are built to include a mix of skill levels so every player can contribute and develop.

Season Schedule:

• End Date: Early-Mid October
• Sessions: 8 Weeks Total

Hello DETROIT Ball Hockey Families,

We’re excited to kick off our NHL Street 6–9 season starting Saturday, April 11! This age group is all about learning, development, and fun while introducing players to the fundamentals of hockey.

Season Details:

Dates: Saturdays starting August 15th

Time: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

Teams:

• Detroit Red Wings
• Chicago Blackhawks
• San Jose Sharks

Each week will include:

• 15- minutes of drills and instruction
• 30 minutes of scrimmage play

Throughout the season, players will be learning:

• Hockey positioning
• Shooting fundamentals
• Passing skills
• Team play and spacing
• Line changes on the fly
• Game awareness and hockey IQ
• Rules

The season will culminate with a full game Championship Day

Winner of 2^nd & 3^rd place game vs 1st Place

This program is designed to help players build confidence, develop skills, and most importantly — have fun playing hockey!

NHL Street 8-Week Schedule 10-14 Year Olds

Please note some weeks have double-headers

Championship day: Winner of 2^nd & 3^rd place game vs 1st Place

• Balanced Teams: We create teams with players of similar ages, skills, and experience, while also accommodating friend requests when possible.
• Division Placement: If a player or group is significantly above the level of their age category, they may be moved up to ensure fair competition.
• Number of Teams: Most age groups have at least 4 teams. If registration numbers are lower, age categories may be expanded or combined (e.g., U9 and U11).

• Individual Registration: Sign up on your own, and we’ll place you on a balanced team.
• Group Registration: Sign up with friends and play on the same team (details provided at registration).

Players

- Hockey helmet with face cage

- Ice or ball hockey gloves

- Hockey stick

- Shin Protection (Soccer Style shin guards are acceptable)

- Optional (protective cup)

Goaltenders 

- Mandatory (protective cup, hockey pants, pads, glove, blocker, chest/arm protector, CSA approved helmet

STANDARD REFUND POLICY - YOUTH

Cancellation after registration deadline
- $10.00 admin fee + $25.00 (Jersey Fee)

No refunds after first session
