Kraker Biszantz 13  Homesmart 1
Kraker Biszantz:  A chilly morning at the ballpark this morning didn’t slow down Kraker Biszantz Realty’s hot defense, led by 2 spectacular plays by Paul Johne, including the game ending bases loaded catch of a line drive shot up the middle in the 5th inning.  Final score 13-1, on another solid pitching performance by Dave Anthony.  The bats stayed hot, keeping Mike Wunsch busy at 3rd base.  Leading hitters were Glenn Griffin 3/3 (double), David Power 3/3, and Ted Grove 2/2.  Going 2/3 were Paul Johne, Brad Johnson, Murray Fairweather(double), Dave Anthony, Howard Sumner, and Randy Ratcliff.  Solid effort by the whole team! Thanks to umpires Kevin Katsuki and John Gavazza, and the group in the tower, who had to be freezing up there!
Homesmaart:  On a cool Thursday morning HomeSmart Paulette Ezell met the league leading Kraker Biszantz team for what would turn out to be a one-sided game. HomeSmart scored one run in the top of the first inning while allowing Kraker three runs. HomeSmart was unable to score any additional runs in the game while Kraker Biszantz scored five runs in the second inning and five more in the third to take a 13-1 lead. Neither team scored in the fourth inning. HomeSmart needed to score at least one run in the fifth to avoid the “mercy” rule but just couldn’t get that run across and the game ended after five innings. Congratulations to the Kraker Biszantz team on the win.
HomeSmart just couldn’t make any part of their game work today but fully intend to turn things around next week.
Thanks to the field maintenance crew for getting the field in shape after the rain. Thanks also to the umpire crew and scoreboard operator. Thanks to Jeff and Cathy for coaching and keeping the scorebook.
Northwest Physical Therapy 16  Susy's 13
NWPT:  On a typical sunny day our Northwest Physical Therapy team defeated a scrappy Suzys Home Cleaning 16-13 in a back and forth game 16-13. Rover Wes Green played good defense and had a huge day on offense as he smacked a double and two triples and drove in 3 runs. Another huge contributor was Ray Gibson who played a tricky grounder at 1B to secure the last out of the game and had 3 hits and 4 RBI including a bases loaded double. Todd Fletcher and sub Jeff Tucker each had 3 hits in the 24 hit attack with the former having a nice slide at second. Randy VW, Mike Sterricker,  and Frank S played good defense behind pitcher Tom Gibans(2-4) and each had a pair of knocks. Bob Kloehn used his long arm to spear a liner and had a key walk in the game deciding 5 run sixth. Bill Paker had sharp single for an Rbi in the 6th inning rally and Greg Martin stroked on hit and did a great job pinch running. A lot of key NWPT two out hits was a huge factor in the win. Ted again kept runners moving and Kris kept up with the action doing the scorebook.
Susy's: We were glad to have the third game of the day because the nice temperature and the warm sun made for a beautiful day to play softball.  It was the kind of day the legendary Cub Ernie Banks had in mind when he said, “It’s a beautiful day for a ballgame… Let’s play two!”  And so, Susy’s Home Cleaning and Northwest Physical Therapy played a fun and exciting game in which NW Physical Therapy prevailed 16-13.  The Therapists jumped out to a commanding lead of 9-0 at the end of two innings.  Then the Susy’s Home Cleaning team came roaring back with ten runs over the next two innings while holding NW Physical Therapy to one run, making the score 10-10 after four innings.  Susy’s then scored three runs in the top of five to take the lead briefly at 13-10 before NW Physical Therapy erupted for five runs to snatch the lead back at 15-13 at the end of five. Susy’s Home Cleaning went scoreless the last two innings while NW Physical Therapy scored once for final 16-13 victory.  For Susy’s, John Recob pitched a sterling game on the bump while getting excellent defensive support from Gary Armstrong, Mark Beckner and Mitch Craun.
Offensively for Susy’s Cleaners, Kim Hurd led the way with four hits (double, RBI) and two scores, Patrick Burnett drilled three hits and scored twice, Mitch Craun hammered a triple (RBI), Ronnie Silberman slugged TWO inside the park home runs (5 RBI), Mark Beckner pounded a single and scored once, Gary Armstrong ripped two singles and scored once, John Recob cracked a single, Jon Chlebeck smoked two singles and scored once, Kim Macqueen blasted a three-run double and scored once, Tim Brown crushed two hits (double, triple, RBI) and scored twice, and Dick Hansen banged two hits (RBI).  Credit to NW Physical Therapists for their well-deserved win.  Thanks to Sally Beckner on the scorebook and Troy Macqueen at third base coach for helping us out today.
Dynamic Wealth 15   Backbone 11
Dynamic:  On a crisp 42° Arizona morning at the Field of Dreams, Dynamic Wealth Management took on  Backbone Chiropractic looking to right the ship, after taking that drubbing from Kraker - Biszantz last week. The money managers wasted no time, plating 4 runs in the visitors half of the first inning. The inning was punctuated with a long solo over the fence home run by Chuck Frazier making it the maximum 5 run inning. It was a very good start, and allowed us to firmly put the debacle from last Thursday in the rearview mirror. Both teams went scoreless in the 2nd inning. After a leadoff out in the top of the 3rd, the money managers strung together 5 straight hits. Including back to back doubles, and a triple, to put up another 5 spot in the inning. Heading into the 4th inning, the money managers had a 10 - 0 lead on Backbone. Holding Dynamic Wealth scoreless in the top of the 4th, Backbone Chiropractic showed some life, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. Not to be outdone, the money managers plated 2 runs of their own in the top of the 5th, hitting back to back extra base hits, a double and a triple. Only to have the backcrackers score 2 more in the home half of the inning. Making the score Dynamic Wealth 12, Backbone 4 heading into the 6th inning. Dynamic Wealth added 3 runs in the top of the 6th, while the back crackers exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the inning. Making the score 15-9 money managers heading into the final inning. Dynamic Wealth was held scoreless in the bottom of the 7th,  and held Backbone to 2 runs in the home half of the final inning. Final score Dynamic Wealth Management 15, Backbone Chiropractic 11. Dave Nathe at  Short, and John Gavazza at Rover threw the leather around today and each made several outstanding plays. What started off as a runaway, turned into a competitive game. Hats off to Backbone for coming back. Congratulations to Dynamic Wealth for hanging tough, and getting back to the win column!  When your 3,4,5 hitters go 12 for 12 with 5 extra base hits, score 7 runs, and knock in 9, it's a really good at the office. Dave Nathe, John Gavazza and Jeff Heary were all perfect at the plate. Each were 4 for 4. Dave scored 3 times, hit a double, and had 2 RBI. John scored a run, hit a double and knocked in 3. And Jeff scored 3 times, hit 2 doubles, and a triple, and had 4 RBI. Chris Espejo was 3 for 4. Chuck Frazier, Frank Carter and Paul Larson each had 2 hits. Chuck scored 2 runs, hit the solo bomb over the wall, added a triple, and knocked in 2. Frank scored 2 runs, hit a double, and had 1 RBI. Paul knocked in a run. John Hammel added 2 RBI and scored a run.
Backbone:   BackBone Chiropractic trailed Dynamic Wealth Management 10-0 after 3 innings and Dynamic was already making early lunch plans.  Over the last 4 innings, BackBone woke up to outscore Dynamic 11-5; but still took the loss in a regulation game.  Dennis Vance 4 for 4 with a RBI had a strong game at the plate and in the field.  Bob Lessard tripled in 3 runs in BackBones 5 run 6th inning.  Allen Bellew with 2 RBI and Ed Baumann with 1 RBI each were 3 for 4.  Sean Baker 2 for 4, Rick Pearson 1 for 2 before leaving the game with an injury, pitcher Dennis Karcher 2 for 3, and sub Laura Fenton 2 for 2 with a walk each plated a run.  Special thanks to Tim Schiewe for stepping in when Pearson was injured and going 1 for 2 with a double and scoring once in the game.

February 17th White League games were rained out.

Kraker Biszantz 15  Dynamic Wealth 1
Kraker Biszantz:  Kraker Biszantz had a great day against Dynamic Wealth scoring 15 runs with 23 hits in a mercy shortened 5 innings.    Leading hitters were Paul Johne 3/4; David Power 3/3; Brad Johnson 2/3; Dave Anthony 2/3; Howard Sumner 3/3 and a double; Randy Ratcliff 3/3 and a double, Lou Provenzano 2/3; Brian Martin 2/3; and Ted Grove 2/3.  The defense had a great day.  The Green Machine had all their bats and gloves working great today.   Thanks to Kim Macqueen for subbing.
Dynamic:   In the immortal words of the late great Marvin Gaye, ‘Mercy, Mercy Me’. Dynamic Wealth Management got absolutely pummeled by the Kraker - Biszantz squad today in a 5 inning mercy shortened game 15 to 1. KB pitcher Dave Anthony had the Dynamic Wealth hitters eating out of his hand, holding the money managers to just 7 hits as a team. The money managers had just 2 runners reach as far as 3rd base in the entire game. One of those runners, John Gavazza, hit a triple, and ultimately scored on a Chuck Frazier double. That was our big offensive output. Back to back extra base hits in the 4th inning. Our only run scored by John Gavazza, and our only run batted in by Chuck Frazier. John Hammel, with 2 hits, was the only player on the team with a multiple hit game. We had 5 players that were hitless. It's still a blast, to be on the field playing a kids game! We’ll put this one behind us and regroup against NWPT next Tuesday. Thanks to Mike Dakak and Brian Walters for subbing! Thanks to Lee Visker for keeping our scorebook.
Homesmart 10  Susy's 5
Homesmart:  Another beautiful day….another exciting softball contest. HomeSmart Paulette Ezell faced off against Susy’s Home Cleaning at the Field of Dreams for a mid-morning contest.  Homesmart was able to plate one run in the top half of the first while Susy’s answered with two runs. Neither team scored in the second. HomeSmart outscored Susy’s four runs to two in the third inning and took a 5-4 lead into the fourth. HomeSmart was unable to score in the fourth but Susy’s added a run in their half of the inning to tie the score at five each heading into the fifth. HomeSmart put one run on the board while excellent defense held Susy’s scoreless in the fifth. Neither team scored in the sixth inning and the score was 6-5 in favor of HomeSmart going to the seventh and final inning. Nursing a slim lead the HomeSmart team became motivated and rang up four runs in the top half of the seventh. Again flawless defense prevented Susy’s from scoring in the bottom half of the seventh and the final score was HomeSmart 10 and Susy’s 5. Hat’s off to Kim, Dick and the entire Susy’s team for a well played game.
HomeSmart converted 22 hits into 10 runs. Leading hitters were Tim Schiewe (4/4), Bill Tierney (3/4) and Tom Gruzs 3/4.  An additional  four players had two hits each. Defensively the HomeSmart boys played exceptionally well and made Susy’s earn every run. The outfield caught every fly ball within range and the infield turned at least one double play.
Special thanks to Chris Espejo for entering mid-game as a replacement for Mark Cemensky who pulled a leg muscle and had to leave the game. Chris made several nice fly ball catches in left field including the final out of the game.
Thanks to the umpiring crew and scoreboard operator. Thanks also to Cathy for keeping the scorebook.
Susy's:  Today’s game between the Susy’s Home Cleaning team and the Home Smart-Ezell team was a TIGHT ONE through six innings as evidence by the following scores: 2-1 for Susy’s, 5-4 for Susy’s, 5-5 at the end of the fifth, and 6-5 for Home Smart-Ezell at the end of six.  However, the Home Smart-Ezell Realtors pulled away from Susy’s Home Cleaning team with four runs in the top of the seventh for a 10-5 win.  Our bats went cold with zero runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.  Credit the Home Smart-Ezell team for playing solid defense and getting timely hitting.  Defensively, Kim Macqueen, Mitch Craun and sub Frank Sandomenico played great on defense in support of Gary Armstrong in his pitching debut today.
Offensively, it was mostly a light hitting day for the Susy’s Home Cleaning team.  Our lowest scoring game previously was 14 runs.  Hitters today were as follows: Patrick Burnett racked up a single, Speedy Kim Hurd ripped three singles and scored a run, Mark The Shark Beckner pounded two hits (double, RBI) and scored twice, Mighty Mitch Craun slugged two hits (triple, RBI) and scored once, sub Frank Sandomenico smashed two hits (two RBI), Big Jon Chlebeck nailed a single and scored once, Kim Macqueen lined a single, Gary Armstrong hammered two hits, Tim Brown stung a single (RBI), and Dick Hansen laced a single.  Usually, it takes more than sixteen hits and five runs to win in our league, but we’ll do better next time!  Thanks to sub Frank Sandomenico and scorekeeper Sally Beckner for helping us out today.
Northwest Physical Therapy 16   Backbone 11
NWPT:   They say that hitting is contagious and that was true today as Tom(Flash) Gibans led the game off with a triple and the rest of the troops followed suit as we erupted for 27 hits including 8 extra base hits in a 16-11 win over Backbone Chiropractic. Tuesday we were shutout, so  go figure. Cleanup hitter SS Randy Van Wagner led the offense going 4-4, 3 RBI. with a pair of doubles and he turned a double play on defense while sub Mark Cemensky was awesome going 4-4 with 3RBI. Other important contributors were Gibans(3-4), Frank Sandomenico (2-4). Mike Sterricker(3-4. 2 doubles), Wes Green 2-3, Ray Gibson 3-4(2B), Mike Hefty 3-4(3B), and Bill Parker 2-4. Key defensive play was a long throw from the wall by Fransk S that 3B Bob Kloehn fielded nicely on the hop to tag out the batter trying for a triple. Ted had fun waving runners around after being lonely Tuesday.
Backbone:   BackBone Chiropractic trailed NW Physical Therapy 10-3 after 3 innings and numerous misadventures in the outfield.  Both teams scored 3 times in the 4th and BackBone had only a 2 run deficit at 13-11 entering the final inning.  After giving up 3 unanswered runs in the top of the 7th inning, the team lost by a final score of 16-11.  Rick Pearson 3 for 4 with a double, Allen Bellew 2 for 4, Nick Herman with a hit, and KenKrzeminski 2 for 4 each plated 2 runs.  Ed Baumann 2 for 4 with a double,  Bob Lesard 3 for 4,  and Roger Gabbert with a sacrifice fly each added a RBI.  Sean Baker with 2 runs scored and sub Bud Bandfield with 3 runs scored each went 3 for 4.  Sub Dave Maligro added 2 hits including a double.  Pitcher Dennis Karcher went 1 for 2 with a walk and took the loss.

Kraker Biszantz 12   Northwest Physical Therapy 0
Kraker Biszantz:  Great day for softball at the Field of Dreams today!  Kraker Biszantz played a great game, winning 12-0 in a 6-inning game.  Dave Anthony pitched a gem with a shutout.  Several great catches in the outfield and solid play from the whole infield contributed to an outstanding defensive effort.
Leading hitters were Murray Fairweather 3/3 with a double, Paul Johne 3/4 (double), Brad Johnson 3/4 with the game winning double, Howard Sumner, Randy Ratcliff, Lou Provenzano, and Brian Martin(double) were all 2/3.  Glenn Griffin(double), David Power, and Ted Grove were 2/4.
NWPT:    In another beautiful Arizona our Northwest Physical Therapy team forgot to bring our bats as we lost to Kraker in a 12-0 six inning shortened affair, The combination of excellent Kraker defense and our ineffective hitting resulted in us getting only 6 hits and not a runner past second base.
Susy's 14  Backbone Chiro 14
Susy's:  Susy’s Home Cleaning and Backbone Chiropractic fought toe-to-toe through seven innings, but neither team could manage to make the game-winning play in the end.  Both teams had some excellent moments, but the other team always matched it.  Defensively for Susy’s, Mitch Craun and Tim Brown made some critical catches in the outfield as did Mark Beckner, Brad Johnson and Gary Armstrong in the infield.  Pitcher John Recob was his usual steady self on the hill and gave us a chance to win in this nail-biter.
Offensively, Patrick Burnett ripped three hits and scored twice, Kim Hurd also smacked three hits and scored once, sub Brad Johnson smoked two singles and scored twice, Mark Beckner drilled two singles (3 RBI) and scored twice, Mitch Craun cracked three singles (2 RBI) and scored three times, Gary Armstrong hammered three hits (triple, 4 RBI) and scored once, John Recob pounded three hits (double, 2 RBI) and scored twice, Jon Chlebeck connected on three singles (RBI), Kim Macqueen banged two hits (RBI), Tim Brown delivered a single (RBI), and Dick Hansen nailed a single and scored once.  A tie is better than a loss, but we are hungry for a win!  Thank you to Brad Johnson for subbing and Sally Beckner for keeping our scorebook today.
Backbone:   BackBone Chiropractic trailed Susy's Home Cleaning for most of the game before scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to salvage a 14-14 tie.  Allen Bellew 3 for 3 plated 4 runs.  Sean Baker 2 for 3 with two sacrifice flies. last minute replacement Becky Holliday 3 for 3 with a sacrifice fly, and sub Don Cole with a hit, walk and sacrifice fly each had 2 RBI.  Rick Pearson 3 for 4 with a walk and double, Frank Baumann with a sacrifice fly, and pitcher Dennis Karcher with a hit each added a RBI.  Dennis Vance 2 for 3 with a double and a walk scored 3 runs; and made several outstanding catches to keep BackBone in the game.  Nick Hermann went 4 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored.  Bob Lessard was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and made the decisive catch on a well hit ball to assure that no runs would score in the top of the 7th.
Dynamic Wealth 17  Homesmart 13
Dynamic:  Dynamic Wealth Management, and Homesmart - Paulette Ezell Realty played a tight game on another beautiful day at the Field of Dreams. Jumping out to a 5 to 2 lead after one, the money managers briefly fell behind 8 - 7 in the visitors half of 3rd, only to plate 2 runs in the home half of the 3rd to retake the lead 9 - 8. Dynamic Wealth tacked on a run in the bottom of the 4th making it a 10  - 8 money manager lead. The Realtors scored 3 runs in the top of the 5th taking an 11 - 10 temporary lead, to then watch Dynamic Wealth score 2 in the bottom of the 5th to retake the lead 12 - 11. The Realtors retook the  lead 13 - 12, scoring 2 more runs in the visitors half of the 6th. Dynamic Wealth Management answered big in the home half of the 6th inning, scoring 5 huge runs to retake the lead 17 - 13. The money managers took the field in the 7th inning and held Homesmart scoreless for the 2nd time in the game. Final score, Dynamic Wealth Management 17, Homesmart - Paulette Ezell Realty 13. It was a fun, well fought, closely contested game.
Leading the Dynamic Wealth offense and going perfect at the plate were Jeff Heary and Frank Carter. Jeff went 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored and an RBI. Frank was 3 for 3 with a walk, hit a triple, scored twice and knocked in 2.  Dave Nathe, Chuck Frazier and Chris Espejo were all 3 for 4. Dave hit a triple, scored 2 runs, and drove in 4 runs. Chuck scored 2 and drove in 2. Chris scored a run. Dave Swanson was 2 for 3, scored a run and knocked in a run. Becky Holliday, Paul Larson, John Gavazza and John Hammel all had 2 hits. With Becky knocking in 3 big runs and scoring 1 run. Paul had a run scored and 2 RBI. John Gavazza had 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  John Hammel had a run scored. Sub Mike Dakak scored a run and added an RBI. Another nice team win! Way to come up big when we need it! Thanks to Mike Dakak for subbing!
Homesmart:  Another perfect day for softball. HomeSmart Paulette Ezell met Dynamic Wealth Management at the Field of Dreams in a hotly contested game with Dynamic prevailing in the end. HomeSmart started the game getting two runs across in the first inning but Dynamic countered with five of their own. HomeSmart scored one run in the second and Dynamic scored two making it a 7-3 game after two. HomeSmart bats came alive in the third scoring five runs and holding Dynamic to two….8-9. HomeSmart was unable to score in their half of the fourth but allowed Dynamic one run. HomeSmart fought back for three runs in the fifth and held Dynamic to two runs. The sixth inning saw HomeSmart scoring two runs but Dynamic scored five making the score 17-13 going into the seventh. HomeSmart was able to score one run in the seventh but came up short in the final tally.
HomeSmart had a season high of 25 hits in the game with the leading hitters being Jim Courtney (4/4), Tim Schiewe (4/4), Mark Cemensky (4/4) and Dan Newman (3/4). Four more players had two hits each. We generally played good defense but did have some mistakes that we typically would not make.
Congratulations to Dynamic Wealth Management on an excellent game. Thanks to Chip Stanczak and Mike Sterricker for umpiring and Todd Fletcher for scoreboard. Thanks also to Jeff and Cathy for coaching and scorebook.

Dynamic Wealth 15  Susy's 15
Dynamic:    Dynamic Wealth Management, and Susy’s Home Cleaning, played a time clock shortened 6 inning game on a windy, but beautiful day at the Field of Dreams. In a see-saw battle the money managers were up 4-2 after 1. Down 7-4 after 2. Tied at 8 after 3. Down 11-9 after 4. And further down 15-11 after 5. Becky Holliday’s pitching, and the defense, held Susy scoreless in the top of the 6th inning, laying the groundwork for a Dynamic Wealth comeback in the home half of the final frame. The bottom of the order came up huge again. Scoring a couple of runs, knocking in a couple of runs, and turning the lineup over to the top. John Hammel had a huge two run double to tie the game up in the 6th. Unfortunately the game ended there as a tie, as a pinch running faux pas caused the 3rd out of the inning to be registered without a swing of the next at bat. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. I won’t make that same mistake twice! Final score Dynamic Wealth 15, Susy’s Home Cleaning 15.

Leading the Dynamic Wealth offense and going perfect at the plate were Frank Carter, Jeff Heary, and Becky Holliday. All going 4 for 4. Also perfect was Dave Swanson going 3 for 3 with a walk. Frank hit a double, scored 2 runs, and drove in 3. Jeff hit 2 doubles, scored 3 runs, and drove in 1. Becky scored 2 runs and had 1 RBI. Dave scored twice and knocked in 1. Chris Espejo was 3 for 4 with a run scored and a run knocked in. John Hammel was 3 for 5, hit a double and a triple, had 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI. Dave Nathe and Jeff Tucker each had 2 hits. With Dave scoring a run, and knocking in a run. Jeff scored a run and drove in 2 runs. Thanks to Jeff Tucker for subbing!

Susy's:  In a seesaw game on another beautiful day at the Field of Dreams,  Susy’s Home Cleaning and Dynamic Wealth battled to a fantastic 15-15 tie.  There were a lot of outstanding defensive plays made by Susy’s players today to back up another fine pitching performance by John Recob.  Many of those fine plays were made by Mitch Craun, Patrick Burnett, sub Bud Bandfield, sub Brian Walters and Gary Armstrong.
Offensively for Susy’s Home Cleaning, Patrick Burnett went a perfect 4/4 and scored three times, Kim Hurd racked up two hits (triple) and scored once, sub Brian Walters pounded a single and scored twice, Mitch Craun blasted a single and a triple and scored twice, Gary Armstrong recorded a perfect 4/4, John Recob drilled two hits and scored once, Jon Chlebeck ripped two hits, Kim Macqueen ripped two hits and a sac fly and scored twice, Tim Brown and Dick Hansen each lined a single and scored once, and sub Bud Bandfield delivered a perfect 3/3 and scored twice.  It was a fun and exciting game right down to the last out in the bottom of the seventh!  Thanks to subs Bud Bandfield and Brian Walters as well as third base coach Troy Macqueen and scorekeeper Chris Koch for helping us out today.
Kraker Biszantz 15  Backbone  10
Kraker Biszantz:  Again, another great softball day.  KB didn’t get rolling until the 2nd inning but managed four runs in the 2nd and five in the 3rd inning.  Three more in the 5th one in the 6th and two more in the 7th sealed the game with a 15-10 win over Backbone.
Hitters today were Murray Fairweather going 3/4; Brad Johnson 3/4 and a double; David Power 2/4; Dave Anthony 2/4; Howard Sumner 3/4 and a walk; Randy Ratcliff 2/4; Brian Martin 2/3 and a sac fly; Ted Grove 4/4; and Lou Provenzano 4/4 and a double.   Our defense today was stellar, thanks guys!!!  We had 27 total hits.  Great day for the green guys.
Backbone:   BackBone Chiropractic dropped its 2nd game of the new season by a 15-10 margin.  Allen Bellew 2 for 4 with a double and Ed Baumann accounted for 3 RBI each.  Curt Rhoades 2 for 4, Ken Krzeminski 2 for 3 with a walk, Nick Hermann with a hit and sacrifice fly, and pitcher Dennis Karcher with a hit each added a RBI. Dennis Vance 3 for 4 with a double scored twice.  Special thanks to sub Dave Maligro with a hit and walk.  defensively the team turned 4 double plays and made aome key catches to shut down rallies; but, it wasn't enough to overcome a strong Kraker Biszantz team.
Homesmart 8  NW Physical Therapy 7
Homesmart:   The early game today found the HomeSmart-Paulette Ezell team hosting the Northwest Physical Therapy team at the Field of Dreams. The therapists scored three runs in the top of the first inning while holding the realtors scoreless. Homesmart was able to blank the therapists in the second inning while scoring one run in their half. Homesmart was again able to hold Northwest scoreless in the third inning while plating the maximum five runs. HomeSmart’s solid defense held Northwest scoreless again in the fourth and the realtors were able to put up one more run in their at bat. Each team scored one run in the fifth inning, then Northwest scored two runs in the sixth to pull within two runs of HomeSmart with the score being 8-6 going into the seventh and final inning. Northwest scored one run before HomeSmart closed the game on a great running catch by RCF Tim Schiewe. Congratulations to the Northwest Physical Therapy Team on a well played game.
Leading hitters for HomeSmart were Tom Gruzs (3/3), Steve Willoughby (3/4), Jim Courtney (2/4), Bill Tierney (2/3), Mark Cemensky (2/3) and Larry Radant (2/3). Everyone contributed to this win with hits, base running and solid defensive play.
Thanks to Ken Krzeminski and Bob Lessard for umpiring and Roger Gabbart for scoreboard. Thanks also to Jeff and Cathy for coaching and scorekeeping.
NWPT:  Our NW Physical Therapy team and and Homesmart battled until the final out. Trailing 8-7 in the last inning, Jeff Tucker banged one to  the gap with 2 on base, only to see Tim Schiewe make a running catch to end the game at that score. Our defense was much better than Tuesday, but our offense slipped a bit as it was shut out 3 different innings as the Homesmart  squad made several nice plays in the oufield to cut short NWPT rallies. The top of the order for our team, Greg Martin, Wes Green, Frank Sandomenico, Randy Van Wagner, and Jeff Tucker  combined for 13 hits and all of the RBI's for our team.. Wayne Weidenbach pitched well and contributed a triple. Top defensive plays were made by Fletcher and Ray Ray. Mike Sterricker drew a bases loaded walk to go along with a single. All in all, a good effort by our boys, but not enough hitting.

Dynamic Wealth 17  Backbone  16
Dynamic:  Well that was a blast! On an absolutely stunning day at the Field of Dreams, Backbone Chiropractic, and Dynamic Wealth Management, battled on opening day of the Winter White League season. It was an old fashioned taffy pull that neither team wanted to lose. It was 5 - 4 Backbone after 1 inning. 9 all after 3 innings. 10 all after 4 innings. Finally, in the 5th inning, the money managers snuck ahead 13 -11. Only to have the back crackers come back with 5 runs in the top of the 6th to take a 16 - 13 lead. In the home half of the 6th, now down by 3 runs, it was tight sphincter time for the money managers. With the heart of the order coming up, Dynamic Wealth reached deep down with grit, and ripped 5 straight hits. 3 hole hitter Dave Nathe led off with a double. Cleanup man Jeff Heary ripped a double knocking in Dave Nathe. The 5 hole batter John Gavazza, hit a single moving Heary to 3rd. In the 6th spot, Chuck Frazier knocked a single, scoring Heary, moving Gavazza to 3rd. Newcomer Frank Carter came to the plate and doubled. Scoring Gavazza from 3rd, and Frazier all the way from 1st, with the money managers taking a 17 to 16 lead. It was now time to take the 1 run lead and protect it in the field. For Backbone in the top of the 7th inning, it was 4 batters, one hit, a double, and the potential tying run stranded at 2nd base when the last out was secured. What a game! What a start to the Winter season! If this is an indication of the competition and excitement of this new season I’m glad that I’m getting AED training this weekend! It’s going to be a heartstopper of a season!
Dynamic Wealth offensively was led by new club member Frank Carter, Jeff Heary, and Dave Nathe, all perfect at the plate. Frank was 4 for 4, with a run scored, and the big 2 run double in the 6th inning knocking in the tying and winning runs. Jeff was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI. Dave was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 2 knocked in. Going 3 for 4 were Chris Espejo, Chuck Frazier, Kevin Katsuki and John Gavazza. Chris hit a triple, scored 2 runs, and drove in 2. Chuck hit a double, scored twice, and knocked in 3 runs. Kevin hit a double,  scored 3 runs, and drove in 3 runs. John scored once and knocked in a run. John Hammel added 2 hits with a run scored and a run knocked in. Becky Holliday, Paul Larson and Dave Swanson all scored runs, with Becky adding an RBI. This was an all around team win!
Baackbone:  In a highly competitive game, BackBone Chiropractic dropped a 17-16 decision to Dynamic Wealth Management after taking a 16-13 lead in the top of the 6th inning.  The sun proved challenging as Dynamic Wealth launched a number of sun balls into the outfield that resulted in runs.  Offensively, BackBone pounded out 29 hits, including 4 doubles and 2 triples to score 16 runs.  The team was led by Dennis Vance 3 for 5 with a triple and Ken Krzeminski 3 for 4 with a double each with 4 RBI.  Rick Pearson 4 for 5 with a double and triple and Bob Lessard 4 for 4 with a double each plated 2 runs.  Allen Bellew 3 for 4 with a double, Nick Hermann 2 for 3 with a walk, sun Dave Maligro with 2 hits, and pitcher Dennis Karcher with 3 hits each added a RBI.
Kraker Biszantz 11  Homesmart 4
Kraker Biszantz:  A beautiful afternoon at the ballpark today.  Kraker Biszantz played our first game of the winter season and came out on top by a score of 11-4.  We only led by 1 after two innings but a 4 and 5 run 3rd and 4th put us ahead the rest of the way.  Leading hitters were Howard Sumner 3/3, Paul Johne 3/4 with a double, Brad Johnson 3/4, David Power, Sub Dennis Kartcher, and Lou Provenzano all 2/3, Murray Fairweather 2/4 with a triple, and Glenn Griffin 2/4.  Everyone had at least one hit and the whole team played solid defense.  Thanks to sub Dennis Kartcher for pitching a great game.  The guys played real well together for the first time as a team.
Homesmart:  The winter session started today with the Homesmart - Paulette Ezell team taking on the Kraker Biszantz team on an absolutely beautiful day. Homesmart failed to score in the top half of the first inning but allowed Kraker to score one run. Each team scored a run in the second inning. Homesmart was held scoreless in the third inning and scored one run in the fourth. Unfortunately Kraker was able to score four runs in the third and five in the fourth making it an 11-2 game after four. Homesmart was able to score one run in the fifth while blanking Kraker. Neither team was able to score in the sixth and the score was 11-3 going into the seventh. Homesmart was able to add one more run in the seventh but could not overcome the deficit. Final score 11-4. Congratulations to the Kraker Biszantz team on the win.
Leading hitters for Homesmart were Tim Schiewe, Greg Carley and Mark Cemensky, each with two hits.
Thanks to the umpires and scoreboard operator. Also thanks to Jeff Smith for coaching and Cathy Radant for keeping the scorebook.
NW Physical Therapy 21  Susy's 16
NWPT:  he third game of the day was interesting to say the least. Both teams had some unexpected fielding issues that led to a lot of runs early. NWPT was able to make enough plays for the win highlighted by Frank Dominico’s diving catch. Mike Sterricker played a very solid 2B and was 4-4 in his debut. Mike Hefty was 3 for 4 in his debut. In a statistical anomaly every NWPT batter had at least one RBI and one run scored and all had at least two hits.  31 for 43 will win lots of games. That said Suzy’s 16 runs will also win most games. Thanks to Jeff Tucker for subbing and another amazing slide into 3B.
Susy's:  The Susy’s Home Cleaning team battled the NW Physical Therapy team head to head through four innings, but trailed 14-13.  After that, Susy’s Home Cleaning was outscored 7-3 by the NW Physical Therapists for a final score of 21-16.  Excellent defensive plays were turned in by the following Susy’s Home Cleaning players: Kim Macqueen, Tim Brown, Mark Beckner, Mitch Craun (editors note-You look good in pink Mitch) and Gary Armstrong.  At the same time, we expect to make more positive defensive plays going forward.
Offensively, Patrick Burnett drilled three hits and scored once, Kim Hurd pounded three hits (2 RBI) and scored three times, Mark Beckner slugged three hits, Mitch Craun hammered three hits (4 RBI) and scored once, Ronnie Silberman collected two hits (RBI) and scored once, Gary Armstrong cracked three hits (3 RBI) and scored twice, John Recob banged three hits (RBI) and scored once, Jon Chlebeck blasted three hits (triple, 3 RBI) and scored once, Kim Macqueen ripped a single and scored once, Tim Brown smoked two hits (RBI), and Dick Hansen collected three hits (triple, double, RBI) and scored twice.  Thanks to Sally Beckner for an outstanding job keeping  our scorebook.  Congrats to the NW Physical Therapy team on their opening day win.

Backbone  12  Homesmart 4
Backbone:  After clinching the White League Championship on Tuesday, BackBone Chiropractic closed out the season by winning by a final score of 12-4 over Homesmart to finish with a 14-4 won-loss record.   Every player had at least one hit en route to the win.  More remarkable, the defense with no player except Randy Biko and Dennis Vance at a position played during the season, was at its best.  Patrick Hansen made two catches in deep right center and also threw a runner out at first base.  Greg Martin made several nice plays at 3rd base.  Richard Szymesko caught every ball hit to the Rover position and also threw a runner at 1st base from short center.  Offensively, the team leaders with 2 RBi each were catcher Chip Stanczak 3 for 3 with a triple; left center fielder Tim Schiewe 3 for 4 with a double; Tom Gruzs 2 for 3; and Greg Martin 2 for 3.  Winning pitcher Randy Biko 2 for 3 with a walk, shortstop Frank Sandomenico with a hit, second baseman Ken Krzeminski with a hit, and left fielder Jim Opyd with a hit each plated a run.  Dennis Vance went 3 for 4 with a double on the day; and Patrick finished the season 1 for 2 with a walk and 2 runs scored.
Homesmart:  Well it was the last game of the season and unfortunately the results are the same.  The Homesmart Ezell Realtors just couldn't put a complete game together and lost today by a score of 12-4.  The weather was perfect the crowd was great and our opponents hit very well.  The highlight of the game was relief pitcher John Recob came in and pitched a great game in relief.   Although the season is over we need to thank our manager Randy VanWagner for sticking with us in the good and bad times.  Thanks Randy.  See you all next season.
Kraker Biszantz 16  Susy's  4
Kraker Biszantz:  On a cold morning for the last game of the season the hot Kraker Biszantz Realty team didn’t disappoint, keeping up the hitting and playing great defense.  We scored 5 in the bottom of the 1st and never looked back.  Winning pitcher Dennis Kartcher pitched a gem holding Susy’s Home Cleaning to just 4 runs in 6 innings, final score 16-4. Offensively we made use of 6 doubles and 3 triples to tally the 16 runs on 27 total hits, keeping Mike Wunsch busy at 3rd base.  Leading hitters were Brian Martin 4/4(2doubles), sub Randy Van Wagner 4/4, sub Frank Carter 3/3(triple and a sac fly) in his first game at Grand(Welcome aboard Frank!), Glenn Griffin 3/4 (double), David Power 3/4(triple), Jay Corbett 3/4(double), Brian Pin 2/4(double), Gary Armstrong 2/3 with a walk, Tim Brown 2/3(triple) and Dave Dompier added a double.  Thanks to subs Randy Van Wagner and Frank Carter.
It was a great season, lots of fun, and once we got going, we were hard to beat down the stretch winning 8 out of our last 10 ballgames.  Hats off to every team in the league for a competitive, fun fall session.  Special thanks to Commissioners Rick Armentano and Chip Stanczak for putting together a well-run White League.
Susy's:  On a cool January morning Susy’s Home Cleaning squared off against the hot Kraker Biszantz team for their last game of the fall session.  The game started poorly for the home cleaners when we failed to score in the first inning but gave up the maximum five runs to the Kraker Biszantz team. To shorten what could be a long story suffice it to say things didn’t improve for Susy’s as they were outscored in every inning.  The mercy game ended after six innings with the score 16-4 in favor of the Kraker Biszantz team. Congratulations to the team and managers on the win.
Susy’s just couldn’t get their bats working although a number of well hit balls went straight to defender gloves.  Although it seemed we couldn’t catch a break the team fought hard all the way to the final out.
Thanks to Roger Gabbart for subbing for us.
Thanks to the umpires and scoreboard  operator.  Thanks to Jeff and Cathy for coaching and keeping the scorebook.
Dynamic 11  TP Dentist 3
Dynamic:  And that’s a wrap! We started the season going 3 - 1 in the first 4 games. And, we finish the season going 3 - 1 the last 4 games. The problem was going 0 - 9 - 1 in the middle 10 games! During that 10 game span we had a tie, two 1 run losses, one 2 run loss, and one 3 run loss. All close games that with a bounce here, a seeing eye lawn dart there, could have made for a different season. In spite of the 10 game winless streak, it was sure a fun time playing together as a team. In the final Fall White League game, Dynamic Wealth beat the second place Thomas Pham Dentistry in a game that meant nothing to either team from a standings standpoint. Outside of the money managers 5 run outburst in the 3rd inning this was a pretty low key affair, with neither team scoring more than 2 runs in any other frame. The final score was Dynamic Wealth 11, Thomas Pham Dentistry 3. Leading the way for Dynamic Wealth was Mark Beckner and Jeff Heary, both going 4 for 4. Mark set the table at the top of the order scoring 3 runs. And Jeff, in the run producing 3 hole, had 2 triples, a run scored, and a team leading 6 runs driven in. Nice game guys! Andy Campbell, Kevin Katsuki, Dave Swanson, and Sub Gary Armstrong were all 2 for 3. With Andy hitting a double and knocking in 2. Kevin hit a double and drove in 1 run. Dave hit a double and scored 2 runs. Bob Lessard and Jon Chlebeck each had 2 hits, with Jon scoring a run with 1 RBI. And Bob scored 2 runs with 1 run driven in. Sub Gary Armstrong pitched well and kept the Dentists at bay all game. It was an all around team win! Thanks to Becky Holliday for keeping the scorebook while nursing her injury. And thanks to Gary Armstrong for subbing for us! We hit the reset button and start the Winter season next week with a new team. It's been a blast! Thanks guys for a fun season!
TP Dentist:  Dynamic Wealth played good defense behind the pitching of Gary Armstrong as our Pham Dentist team could only muster 9 hits in an 11-3 loss.   Wayne pitched well for us and he deserved a better fate. Paul Larson (3-3) and Dave Nathe (2-3, 2B) had more than half of the Pham hits with the former having 2 doubles. On defense Kim was busy as she had a part of 10 outs from her second base position. Our Pham team had a good season finishing 11-6-1. Thanks to Kris for keeping a neat and accurate book all season.
