SOFTBALL - SLOWPITCH Welcome to IFPAA Slowpitch Softball. Our philosophy is simple, keep our players safe, develop their skills, and HAVE FUN. By focusing on these 3 goals, all of the positive outcomes of youth sports will follow. We offer clinics not only for development of our players, but also for the development of our managers and coaches. Teaching skills is a primary goal of IFPAA.
IFPAA Slowpitch softball has experienced tremendous growth over the past few seasons. Last season, we expanded our Ponytail division to 8 teams, up from 5 in 2010. This season, our Senior division has increased from 3 to 4 teams, and Minor is up to 4 teams from 3.
IFPAA has become a dominant organization in the Greater Pittsburgh Softball League. Each season IFPAA has the more teams in GPGSL than any other organization. Over the past 4 seasons, we have had two GPGSL Champions, six runner-ups, and many, many semi-finalists. Our success on the fields is a reflection of our commitment to our philosophy stated above.
IFPAA also supports the North Allegheny Slowpitch Club softball team. Since inception of the NA Slowpitch program, the vast majority of players have come from IFPAA teams.
We have some exciting new developments for 2014:
For the first time ever, we are offering an 18 & over Adult softball program. These teams will compete at Graham Park in Cranberry on Sunday evenings. Jen Altman is the Commissioner of this league, and will be happy to answer any questions. You may contact Jen Altman (See Contact List (PDF)) for assistance.
The NPF Uniforms that we have used at our younger ages are no longer available, but we are excited to introduce new moisture-management fabric jerseys for our girls. We will phase these in this season on a trial basis at all ages. They are sleeveless V-neck jerseys that we trust will offer better comfort on those hot sunny days!
